2021 Event Photos

Our annual Toy Drive was held on last first Saturday of the year. As usual, the event was festive and well attended. Here are pictures from the occasion plus photos from several other first Saturday meets of 2021. You can see that SIR members enjoy more than just donuts and coffee when we get together.

December 4, 2021

As SIR members arrived, they began to fill all open cavities in the Porsches on the showroom floor. Note: the Taycan Cross Turismo was pretty roomy!

Dozens of people attended including new and long-time members. Many were dressed for the holidays. All seemed to be having a jolly time.

Scott Klueh, and Rich Gustafson welcomed everyone to the event. Cheryl Roethemeier introduced the ladies from Child Protective Services who then thanked us on behalf of all of the children who would receive these gifts. Tony Ricketts followed up with D-Patrick's endorsement of our support for this charity. He also invited everyone to a fine lunch catered by The Acropolis Restaurant.

The folks at the Acropolis always provide good food. Many thanks to Tony and D-Patrick Porsche.

November 6, 2021

In November, Tony Ricketts and D-Patrick arranged for the local VW Club to join us for a joint Porsche/VW gathering. There's a family relationship, of course, and an amazingly long shared history, We welcomed the idea and had a great time. The VW guys brought lots of interesting cars.

There were Beetles, of course.

And "Busses". (Three of them)

There was this classic Dune Buggy, complete with a plush Rat Fink. If Rat Fink doesn't ring a bell, you might look up the character online. In fact, if dune buggies are a strange concept, there is a hole in your automotive education.

There was a smattering of Karmann Ghias.

One had a Miata engine in the front and who knows what other modifications. Note the wider wheels.

And someone brought this French Citroën, deux chevaux.

Its passenger was a Scotty dog who rode in a special perch in the front passenger seat.

Not to be outdone, SIR's Jerry Smith brought an English Rolls Royce.

October 2, 2021

At the October meeting, we recognized all of our new members with gifts from our club and from D-Patrick. D-Pat generously provided lunch. There were a couple of exciting Porsches on hand for inspiration.

Curt Hamilton welcomed everyone.

Tony Ricketts welcomed us, too, and expressed his eagerness to support Porsche Club members in every way possible.

Rich Gustafson and Mark Roethemeier gave out stacks of goodies to new members.

And we dined. We rarely turn down free food.

May 1, 2021

May first was a great day to meet outside and talk about cars. We held a brief official meeting with greetings for viisitors and new members and words from various SIR Officers and Board Members.

No one was in a hurry to get out of the sun. The morning was just too nice.

When the meeting was over we talked about cars.

Mark Faris answered questions about the new addition to his Porsche stable: a handsome 1980 928.

Visitors stopped by with a Ferrari and a McLaren. We tried not to show too much interest in them.

April 3, 2021

Cars and Coffee people can't do without either. Masks may be inconvenient but don't stop us.

Masks may be inconvenient but don't stop us.

This April meeting covered several topics, certainly including our participation in the upcoming Porsche Parade in French Lick.

We began the year's collection of Event Photos with Pictures from First Saturday gatherings from January, February and March. There are no photos from a few Saturdays. Sometimes, it's just people visiting for an hour or so on a Saturday morning, drinking coffee and eating a donut or two standing among some of the finest machines on Earth.
